last day at visibility

i'm aware that it's really difficult to get into nus with such a low score, and that it needs to hit at least 3.8 but hey anything's possible right? as long as i work really hard and focus more.......
i'm really glad that i scored two distinctions on speaking modules though!!! and my math has improved so much! i'm not taking any math-related modules for sem 2.1 though. it's all on science now. i have a module named pharmaceutical legislations and marketing (OMG) it's like a business module!!!
oh and i'm also in 'cinema: reflections and interpretations' for my CDS hehe.
my first clubbing experience
i met anil and julian for dinner at vivo before walking over to sentosa to meet the rest.
i really wasn't used to the deafening (i'm not exaggerating) music, but thankfully our table was outside so i could escape from it once in a while. the night started with the usual group of us hanging around the table, but it was really humid so i would ask julian to accompany me inside for the air con hahaha. when xq/ xs/ caro finally came, we hit the dance floor. it was empty at first, but they're really daring so i just followed...... after a while, more people came on and it became a full-blown crowded crazy dance town.
imagine dancing, blasting music, smoke surrounding you in thick clouds till the point where you couldn't even see your fingers, and friends. the guys made a circle around us to prevent other guys from taking advantage of us, and i really appreciated it.
i was extremely alert though. i didn't drink enough alcohol for myself to be tipsy, so i was on the lookout hahaha.
i honestly didn't expect myself to like clubbing at all, but even though i woke up with a ringing sound in my ears, i actually enjoyed it. for the atmosphere. for the company. for the crazy dancing without bothering about what anyone thought of.
unfortunately, i only turn 18 in december.... so for now i can only depend on guest lists :-( oh well.
i really hope i don't make this a weekly thing though. i'm still making my studies a priority!!!
nape piercing
oh and i pierced my nape at a shop called ink by finch. it's in peninsula shopping centre and the guy is really really nice!!! i was extremely nervous, and finch was trying to calm me down. he has this fatherly/ brotherly tone that makes you feel safe, to be honest. throughout the whole piercing process when the needle went through my neck, i kept blabbering stuff to another guy who was sitting opposite me haha. before they started, they actually asked about my last meal and told me about how my blood pressure might be a little low since i ate 7 hours ago...... and they also waited for me to buy food and finish it, and didn't rush me at all wtf!!!
i got it done for only $55 can you believe it!!!! it's not a sloppy shop, in fact it seems quite safe. i brought xiaoqian to do her naval and carolyn to do her tongue, and so far all the piercings are great. he's really experienced and he gave me advice on aftercare too :-) i checked out their facebook page to see his tattoo creations, and my goodness it all looks so amazing. in the future when i decide to get a tattoo, i'm definitely going back to him.
oh and when finch dropped his marker cap, he said "can you help me to pick that up dear? i'm way too fat" HAHAHAHAHA.
steph pierced her auricle right after me!!! we are such brave people.
one more thing to strike off on our book of "things to do before we're 30" (piercing something together)
it's been almost two weeks since i've pierced my nape, and i'm really glad to say that the piercing looks extremely healthy - no infections/ no blood/ no pus. in fact, it doesn't feel like there's anything there at all. i've been dancing quite a lot, and it hasn't obstructed any of my movements. thankfully i sleep sideways, so i wouldn't apply pressure to the piercing at night. the only drawback is the paranoia, i'm always afraid that it'll get caught in my hair or my blouse, so i'm really careful. i don't want any rejections haha.
after i tweeted about the piercing, i literally got ten replies saying "ouch" "did it hurt" "that looks painful" or something along the lines. my friends who saw it kept cringing and asking the same thing. but to be honest, no it really isn't that painful. i'm not sure if i have a high threshold of pain or if the adrenaline drove me to numbness, but i expected it to be a lot worse.

books
i just finished this book - hidden by cathy glass. previously, i read another book from her, titled damaged.
basically, cathy is a foster carer who has taken care of many children with troubled pasts. most of them had problems with their families. for example, 'damaged' talks about a girl named jodie who was sexually abused by a pedophile ring, causing her to have horrible behaviour (she soiled herself and wiped it on her face/ kicked cathy's children when she first saw them/ etc).
'hidden' tells a story of a ten year old boy named tayo. his mother, minty, snatched him away from his father when she lost custody of him. ever since then, they have been staying at different houses, living in squats, and tayo was forced to work in a sweatshop. in the end, the book revealed that tayo's father, mr ondura, had been searching for tayo for the past five years and eventually they got reunited. he took so long because minty and tayo smuggled into the uk, and hence there were no records of their names anywhere - which explains why the book is titled 'hidden'
to be honest, i prefer 'damaged' because it shows the build-up of jodie placing her trust in cathy, and slowly revealing (bit by bit) about jodie's past. but 'hidden' was the only book i've read that has made me cry. not because of tayo's sad past, but because i was so moved at mr ondura's love for his son.
i'm halfway through this book - the five people you meet in heaven.
it talks about eddie passing away and moving onto the afterlife. i like mitch albom's idea of heaven. it's not somewhere with a beautiful waterfall/ insanely gorgeous scenery, heaven is somewhere you learn about your life in earth. i'm up until the third person that eddie meets, where ruby explains eddie's dad's death to him. i think this book is really meaningful.
xiaoqian's 18th
xs bought a cake from awfully chocolate and the group of us went to surprise her at roxy, when julian and jon walked around aimlessly with her haha.
after that, a couple of us went to siglap to chill and talk before heading home. it is so inconvenient that i live in hougang now, cuz the cab home from the east is SO expensive.
i got her a card that said "without you my life tombalek" HAHAHAHA i find that very very accurate
these two got her a pack of condoms hahahahaha (as a joke of course)
on sat night we went to acid bar to celebrate xq's 18th!!!!
there was this lady with a really strong voice singing tons of great songs. she even took requests, and she sang the birthday song for my dear girl hehe.
i love the fact that their shots weren't very strong, so we just drank for fun and i wasn't even worried about getting drunk lol.
in total, we got a hundred shots for the night ^^
everyone around the table took turns to drink a shot with xq hahaha within 5 mins she had like ten shots mm but wanwen couldn't drink oh well.
hahahaha she was damn afraid to drink her flaming lambo
jon got her a 'blowjob' but she was too unprepared to finish it, and joachim drank it instead. he ended up puking after a while HAHAHA
